Three of my banty hens hatched out 3 separate clutches of eggs this fall and all 15 chicks are pullets! The first 6 hatched in early September, the following 4 in late September, and the last 5 in mid-October. They are all crosses of various breeds and many of the eggs were "stolen" by the banties from my other standard-sized hens. Is this just incredible luck or is there some scientific explanation for getting all girls? Would it have anything to do with the weather or temperature? In the past the scales have been decidedly tipped towards roosters, and the only difference I can think of is that the hens usually set much earlier in the year, like spring and summer. Curious to know your thoughts!

You are definetly blessed!!!!!

I have read that the female decides the sex of the chicks not the male as in most animals. I also read of some data that said the better diet also caused more females in birds. I feed a higher protein feed this spring and got two females to one male in my hatch. you need to take care of that banty she is one in a million!

Maybe you were wanting a roo. LMBO Seems like when someone is hoping for a roo, they end up with pullets and vice versa. Congrats...and if I were you, I'd get a lotto ticket
