Hopefully Mcmurray Hatchery will replace the dead chicks. I lost one that came from Ideal. I can't immagine loosing several. My last 25 chicks were from Townline Hatchery in Zeeland Michigan and I live in Florida. I was worried about them traveling all that distance. My chicks were shipped on a Monday and supposed to arrive on a Wednesday. I called the P.O. and was told none came in that day and that most likely they would be in the next day as they usually get them in around 6am. At 3pm that day I got a call from the post office that my chicks had come in with some priority mail. To my surprise and delight all were fine. Here are some pictures of them when I got them and now.

AAAAKK!

I've got an order in from MM for this week too, also my first chicks. I called MM customer service when I didn't have them on Wednesday, because I thought they shipped them out early in the week and I would have them by then.

Nope, they said they shipped them out on Tuesday, and I would have them no later than Friday.

I even called the Post office today to see if they were there, but they weren't

I'm really hoping that mine all make it, and that you don't lose anymore!

Well today is the day I call MM with the total dead count, I lost two more last night making the total 20!!! but the good things is the other six seem to be doing great!! there all running around throwing food all over the place. Some one on here told me to use apple cider vineger in there water insted of suger? can you guys tell me if there is a special kind I should get? and what ACV really does for the chick? thanks

I had a shipment of chicks from MM in the spring. Over Easter break they were sent out, and didn't arrive to my PO until Tuesday morning. We ended up losing 10 chicks. MM not only replaced all those that I lost, but sent an extra and 12 PP (packing peanuts) of red star roos. They sent them at the very next shipment and we got a call from the main PO on a Sunday morning. DH and my DSs drove to pick them up. All were perfectly fine. MM will be good to you.

It's tough to lose them though. My DS cried with every loss (as did I).

I talked to MM, and there going to send me out 23 more chicks which should arive next thursday she said. Hopefully they will be in better shape. I will keep you guys informed!!

I had the same thing happen to me on an order from Cackle in June. They shipped the replacement chicks three weeks later and all survived and were much more healthy the second time around. The first time the shipment came the heat was over 90 everyday for a week. The second time the heat was running around 85. Made a big difference.

What kind were they? I had ordered 25 Golden Sebrights from MM and had all but 10 die. They replaced them without hesitation and recieved my next batch three days after they were shipped and all were dead. They replaced them again without hesitation and put in some Silver Sebrights to fill the order to the 25 minimum and most of the Golden Sebrights dies again. All of the Silver Sebrights made it. When I called and let them know they were going to give me a credit without hesitation but I had them send me some Silver Spangled Hamburgs instead and they all lived. It was just something about those Golden Sebrights!!!
