Hazel is our 15 week old silver laced wyandotte (above). I noticed she has some red lines streaking on her legs, and when I searched for info about that, I kept finding rooster related posts.
Penny was our 15 week old buff orpington who had to go live on a farm because he was not a Penny and crowed.
I'm worried now that Hazel is a rooster. Please tell me that she's all hen (please please please).
And just to round things out, Alice is our Black Australorp who I have no worries about at all.

I forgot to mention - and it seems to matter for this breed - that they are all hatchery chicks.

I'd say she is a pullet! ;) my slw roo is 13 weeks old and has saddle feathers, lots of green to him, hackle feathers, yours looks like my hens! She is getting close to be laying in the next few weeks! :D

I don't see any rooster-y feathers. If it's the comb and wattles you're worried about, wyandottes develop them much earlier. She's getting close to laying too so factor that into her coloring. :)

Definite girl! My wyandotte was definitely looking like a roo at 15 weeks (huge comb, THICK legs and very different feather pattern). She is spot on for a pullet

Phew. Thank you all! This is the one that my 6 year old loves to cuddle with, so I was really holding my breath.
I never knew about the beak/sound thing. Interesting. Thank you all.
