There is no hard and fast rule for when to start, but you don't want to short them of the nutrients they need as chicks by trying to transition them too quickly to adult feed.

They are right on the cusp of this transition. We usually keep our chicks on Starter Feed until they're between 20 and 22 weeks, or until they lay an egg...

My girls are 15 weeks, is it to early to start adding layer feed in with their starter?
I'd put out a container of Oyster Shells now, and

I wouldn't start adding Layers feed till 18 weeks or the first eggs from each breed appears, whichever is later. GC
