Deerman... I can only come up with one thing to add...
If you decide on leaving trustfunds for the grandkids... be oh so very careful who you choose to manage it.
When my grandfather passed... he left a certain amount of money that was to be split evenly among all the grandkids, once they were finished being born... and he chose the son he thought most responsible to manage it... my father... well, 10 years down the road, times got tough... none of the kids were grown yet, no one looking over his shoulder really... so in desperation, he spent it all to pay taxes on his buisness... leaving all the cousins, who had really depended, being promised they had that money for college.. completely high and dry.
You should still do it, if thats whats in your heart to do.
Just be very careful when it comes to extra monies given to friends and family... a little here and a little there, and all of a sudden, what looked like a large sum is a tiny sum and YOU may need it for something else. And also... I would rather surprise someone with a gift of money.. rather than letting it be known I had it... it can feel really awful if every time you turn around, someone else you love is asking for money from you. YOU are most important here, it is YOUR money, until you give it to someone else. There is nothing wrong with that, don't feel bad about it.
I wish you a ton of fun and laughter, and all blessings from God.
