It is on notch 4 but the temp is only reading 96.3˚F

Which notch is it preset to?

Should I put it on another notch???

What kind of thermometer are you using? It could be off some. I use the mercury one that came with it and it shows it at the right temperature. It is preset on notch 4. Don't mess with it until you know if your thermometer is right or not.

I have a medical glass kinda one and a digital and the regular that came with it...

The one that came with it says about 98˚

The digital one says 99.3˚

Is this your first hatch with it? I would use it just the way it is since it is pre-set and it says not to trust the thermometer unless you know from experience that the pre-set is wrong.

If you're using a digital and the one that came with it, I wouldn't trust either of them. To calibrate the digital ones, you really do need a good thermometer, and the ones that they send with the incubator are not what you're looking for, lol.

I actually bought it used... I think I am going to leave it the way it is for now and see what it does.


As of right now, they read:

Digital: 99.3˚

Mercurial thermometer: 100.2˚

GQF: 98˚

My apologies, I missed the fact that you had another one in there. I'd definately go with it, don't change it. It will have slight fluctuations, so it may just be on an "up".
