1588 Genesis Incubator issues

My guess your humidity is fine. When my bator is reading at 99.6 my humidity is around 50 to 53...when I've filled it, it may go up to 55. That's with my digital reader only...I've done fine with it. The preset bators work pretty well.
You have become another ultamate mother hen.

I gave in and put it on toggle five. It is holding at 99.3˚

When I got home, it was only 98.5˚ so that's why I upped it...

I have to cover part of the water tray with aluminum foil to keep the humidity from getting so high. I have an idea that it's because we're on the coast where the outside humidity is high anyway.

Ok, my Hovabator is on toggle 4 and it consistently stays on 100 degrees. When I switched that one off and toggled no3 on the temps went down to 96.3. It says its preset to 100 but the reason I bought it was its suppose to be preset on 99.5. However, I have read on here that others are on toggle 4 and thier temps are reading lower than mine on toggle 4. Is it just probably a thermostat issue? I would prefer mine be at the prime temperature for chickens but when I try to adjust it the temps its too low. I did, of course, play with the temps after I was done incubating to see what it would do. When I saw that toggle 3 lowered the temps, hoping that it would lower it to the optimum temps and didnt, I put it back on toggle 4. Now, I turned off that one before I turned on 3. Im think Im rambling.

Does this make sense?

In a pinch, you can put a little dish of uncooked rice in your incubator to lower the humidity.
