16 week light brahma gender?

Thank you I am new to this and only one is a brahma. The new curved feathers made me nervous

Don’t be nervous see how the feathers on the back or saddle area points toward the tail. Roos will have longer neck, saddle and tail feathers. The saddle feathers on a roo tend to point down over their sides. Roos also have larger and darker combs, wattles, and feet. They also crow telltale sign. Congrats on your Pullet who will make a pretty hen. My husband has colleague with Buff Brahmas. They like Brahmas due to their friendliness. Enjoy! :frow:welcome

Can you get some better side pics? Those front on pics don't show very well the possible saddle feathers. From what little I could see if them, you may have a roo on your hands. But it's hard to tell from the pic. If it gets those pointy saddle feathers you can bet a dollar fiddly and a dang good meal, it'll start to crowing and you'll never hear it squeal.

At 4 months it can still be hard to tell with slower maturing heritage breeds. From the pics it could be a pullet. But even if they display some female sex traits, they can just be a slow to mature cockerel. With slow maturing breeds other than pointy saddle and hackle feathers, there just ain't no dang tellin, at least not till they lay an egg or crow.

I hate to be the odd duck out here, but I'm completely on the fence here. The feathers say pullet. I 100% agree with that.... But the face... That's an awful lot of wattle for 16 weeks. Here's a pic of my light brahma when she was 18 weeks, for comparison...
