I am no expert by far (newbie), but my girls never let me hold them. One day almost 2 weeks ago as I approached Sally squatted on the ground and I was able to pet her. My niece picked her up. All good. Her first squat was on the 8th Sep. laid her first egg on the 15th - 21 weeks Now every day she squats for me and comes running to me as well. I do believe yours is nearing, watch for the ground squat, not while holding her. You will see the difference. Good luck.is the comb red? or dark pink? My orpington girls are 18 weeks still no eggs. Has she laid yet?Hey all
I have 4, 16 week old Buff Orpington hens. One is developed substantially more than the other 3.
You'll see in photo my developed girl Myrtle and another Orpington Cinnamon. They all look like Cinnamon except for Myrtle lol
None are laying yet.
My Jerseys aren't even as developed.
Could Myrtle be a Mister??
Let me know when you have eggs!
