16 week old pullet very ill, lethargic, yellow diarrhea, losing weight.. Please help

What are you feeding her? Green droppings are common when they have not been eating well. KayTee baby bird feed is sometimes used since it goes through the feeding tubes. Casportpony is pretty knowledgeable about tube feeding. You can also grind up feed in a food processor and water it down while using a good size tube, I think 18 french. I can't help thinking that there is something that we are missing. I wish that you could get a vet to check her. Enrofloxacin (Baytril) is kind of a really powerful antibiotic that gets so many things. You can order it online, and if you go to the top of this page to the search box, and enter baytril sources.

Yes, I know there seems to be something I am missing. A vet is not a possibility unfortunately right now, so I am left to seeking knowledge from others right now.

I have been feeding her regular chick starter (Dumor) I was getting ready to switch all of them to layer crumbles then she got sick. I have also been feeding her yogurt and some bread dipped in the yogurt because that is what she seems to willingly eat while she is sick.

When was the last time you wormed your flock?

Have you checked her from comb to vent for any parasites?

When was the last time she laid an egg? How was the shell?

I am sorry for your troubles. I hope we can help her get well again. <3

I just wormed them today, and she has not laid an egg yet. She is 16 weeks, so not quite yet,
I have checked both her comb and vent, yet I see nothing unusual. However I am not sure if everything is visible to the naked eye. Is there anything that I may not be able to see, yet she may show me in other ways?
I am just so confused!! She is doing a bit better today, I did go and grab a vitamin drench for her, but want to make sure it is ok to give with the corid. I will check now, I don't think there is anything wrong with it, however I want to be safe rather than sorry later.
I will say that I have kept her isolated during the day, however she and her flock mates are still in my house at night! Agghhhh!! I live in a suburban area and our coop and run is at our ranch. So she has been with the other 3 and she is still the only one not feeling great. The others are silkies, and I thought that they would be the most likely to get sickly rather than her. So all 4 are in my laundry room for now until she is better and able to go to the coop!!

You will get various opinions here about giving vitamins while giving Corid. Corid works by mimicing thiamine in the coccidia organism, and some think giving vitamins will make the chicken thiamine deficient and prevent the Corid from helping. I don't believe that myself, since eating food doesn't harm them. I also feel if a chicken is sick and needs the vitamins, they should get them. Just don't mix the two in the water, and make sure the only water is the Corid water.

Ok so how to give? This stuff looks nasty and smells horrid. Probably will stain everything. I personally am not sure she would be willing to just let me give her a few drops in her mouth.
Should I just pry open her mouth and drip in? I really don't want to have to tube feed her this stuff. It was nerve wracking doing it the first time, and since she started eating a little bit again, I hate having to repeat this stressful event again if I can find an easier alternative!!
It looks a lot like poly vi sal.

Corid dose is...

2 teaspoons (NO LESS) per gallon of water for 20% powder
OR
1.5 teaspoons per gallon of water for the 9.6% liquid

Give for 5-7 days (make it new at least once a day) and make sure it's the only water accessible for the duration of treatment. :)

Hope that helps!

Oh sh...t! I have the wrong dose of corridor!! I have been putting 1 1/2 teaspoon in 1 gallon. If this is the case then that is why it is takeing her so long to get over this. She has shown some improvement, but just soo slowly. I have had sick chickens before yet they have bounced back quicker that this one. Or I should say they have shown more improvement from day to day when they were on the way to getting better!
Could this 1/2 teaspoon really be that significant?
Wow! Thank you, I will fix that now!!
