16 week pullets and one rooster, Can they have Layer/Breeder feed?

    I am out of my grower feed and the store only had the all grain layer and breeder feed left. Directions say: Feed free choice to brown and white egg layers and breeders when hens reach 16 weeks of age.

    None of my pullets are laying yet. Does anyone see a problem with this? The calcium level is min. 3.80% max4.80%.

    People have been feeding layer to cockerels and pullets near POL for ages. Whether it's the best thing for them is another question, but they are old enough that the calcium shouldn't do anything like shut down their kidneys.
