The VN's have straight threads rather than NPT?

HN's go with 1/8" NPT...not that you GAS....

Yes, they seem to be 3/8"-24 NF threads as best as I can measure. They have seal ring sorta like a O ring.

Got the brooder done except for the top screen which will not be needed until they start flying out.

The adjustability I have on my mini bin feeders for chicks are just L hooks on the back that hang from the HC in my coop.

The last brooder I built had some HC hanging from clips it was OK but I wanted something easy to operate and not have any hinges or other supporting structure.

I got started on the Chick Feeder Mk2 today.

The sides, top and bottom parts.


Assembled


The ends attached, which hold the whole thing together.


The top is removable for filling and or cleaning out.


I pretty much have the rest of the design in my head now so maybe tomorrow I'll be done with that and move on to some cobbled together frames with plastic on them to block the two big openings so they don't have any draft in there.

Oh that's not the first one I built today it reminded me that I needed to do more ciphering before cutting.

I finished up the Adjustable Chick Feeder Mk III yesterday.

Feeder Mk I with one of the adjustment devices (2x6 cut into an octagon)


Feeder Mk II top removable, adjustable by removing the sides and putting back in a different hole. Divider top not removable so clean out is not easy.

I have 4" of height adjustment, the roost stopper fits into a slot and the top divider is removable for easy cleaning and filling.
