Thank you everyone for the awesome encouragement. I've never put pics of myself on the internet but I'll have to do a before and after pic. I was so excited I was yelling and jumping up and down when I got off the phone. My 1st sale of a dozen eggs paid for faxing the resume so CHICKENS GOT THE JOB FOR ME

I showed up early, an older woman was also there for the job. She left after 15 minutes. I think the news that the position would be over a somewhat troubled low-income apartment complex changed her mind about the job. I don't mind at all- I do the drug test at the beginning of next week and off I go! Soo happy. And following a 2 hour discussion with the hubby after an accidental window breaking he's decided to jump on board, both showing appreciation for what the other does. I do hope all of this works out because I am definitely excited about everything.

why do u have to do a drug test for a job? is all of america that way? not prying if its a personal reason but just curiuous (i havent lived in the states for 30 years so havent a clue , also dont visit so really no connection)

Because the appalachian region is one of the poorest regions in America. Stigma of the mining region- not much work, overall depression of the people and prescription drug abuse is very rampant here. If folks don't mess with any of that stuff then there's nothing to worry about when taking a drug test. The worst thing I do is smoke cigarettes so it's not a big deal. Most places drug test for safety reasons. I wouldn't want to work with someone high on drugs and end up hurt or killed. If that's the only obstacle in the path then I should start work next week. The guy that requested hatching eggs is coming to get them today. I am glad to fulfill his request and be able to move Mr. Peck to his bachelor pad. The girls will enjoy the break- especially Pizza because she has a spot that needs to heal some. She's the most submissive so she's looking rough right now. Gotta get those quilt swap blocks finished so...happy cluckin!

i know applacia. just wasnt aware of the problems in those areas... i always thought alcoholism was one of the main problems...

Many if not most companies across the USA will require a drug test. It's been pushed for by the workers comp insurance industry. After all why should a company pay for an accident caused by an employee wasted on the job.

Now if you have a prescription for the drug then they can't refuse you.
