I started raising chickens about 1.5 years ago. I have run into an issue, so I joined Backyard Chickens to gain more knowledge for my feathered cohorts in rural Alabama. I have 1 turkey hen that is 17 months young and has never provided an egg yea. One day I may get her a Tom to allow me to breed a few. The rest of the flock is a mixture of hens and roosters. I have all 17 feathered friends in a 4'x8' coop that has 4 rails to allow perching at night in the back half of the coop. The run is fully enclosed 10'x40'. I have supplied them with the 22% show laying pellets, along with corn based treats. It also contains other things like sunflower seeds and some other seeds. I put about 4-6 cups of this mix every other day.
