16x10 shed soon to be coop

want to make the run in the shaded area behind shed but cant until i get a privacy fence up or get ordinances changed or a variance small area between garage and shed will have to do



got some paint down on the inside still need more and have to make roost and poop board still and a few nest this shed was used as a coop before i moved in but i think it needs lots more work have about 2 months or so to finish. get my 6 girls at the end of the month.

Lots of potential there! Is the area they do have for a run shaded at all? I'm not far from Enid so the climate is pretty similar and it gets blazing hot here in the summer so they really need the shade. Is the ordinance to do with distance from a dwelling? Perhaps talk to the neighbors and see if they have a problem with you putting the run there?

the coop and run area will be shaded pretty well all day. i live in an R-4 zone about a 1/4 acre lot and owning livestock is restricted to R-1 (estate lots) or Agri zones or 1+ acre lots. all of which are on the outskirts of town for the most part. the people who lived here before us had chickens and thier kids where friends with mine only one neighbor is even close to our property since we live on a corner lot and the lot behind us is one that runs from street to street so the half behind us is empty. I plan on making a pallet privacy fence around that section of yard for now have 100 petition pages printed with 20 sig lines per page. and lots of print outs of research pages from others listed in law sections links on forum. work 6 days on 3 off in oil field fracing wells though so alittle slow going. hope to be infront of walwart and atwoods on my next days off trying to get petitions signed, educating others and gathering people to help.
