Hi folks,

So I posted this one before and I believe all my responses said she's a girl. However, these tail feathers seem to be really filling out a lot and with some pointing downward..and a couple way outward...do I actually have a cockerel here? Trying to learn...those tail feather that turn downward, isn't that a sign of a cockerel?
Not necessarily. More mature cockerels will have long flowing tail feathering. In general 'tail shape' is a very poor indicator of gender. That bird shows absolutely no male specific feathering.

That's a pullet.. it's pointy saddle feathers not the angle they hold them..

You can see even if the hen pointer her tail down the feathers would still be rounded. Sometimes pattern can make rounded feathers look pointy but putting your finger or a sheet of paper under a few can make it easier to see shape.
