Six of my hens are 17 weeks old on monday. How soon might i expect an egg? Will there be any signs or will i just find an egg?

The girls that are 17 weeks old are EE's Silver laced wyandotte, RIR and Black Aussies, oh and a white rock.

Mine started laying at 16 wks but they are BSL's and BR's. They are pullet eggs - small.

My EEs didn't start until after 20 weeks, maybe even 24?

I have SLWs and Black Aussies, as well as some new EEs that are all 18 weeks today and nothing yet.

I'm tapping my fingers over here, too! Let's have a race!

I have EEs, NH, Welsummer, Barnevelder, Aust, and a giant . They are 17 weeks old and no eggs as of yet. I think the Amber Links and Comets that are 4 weeks younger may just lay before they do.

You may want to wait until they are a few weeks older until you look for eggies.
