I know, I'm really tempted to just do it. But 56 eggs is a lot, so I shall try to be patient and just wait for day 7.

I try to wait until day 7, before than it's hard to see anything significant, but sometimes I just can't help but peek.

I couldn't wait, so I went ahead and candled.
Gulp! Every single egg is developing! I wasn't planning on a big hatch. My roosters are doing their job!

I had the same problem recently with a test hatch . . . I'll know to do a smaller test hatch in the future

I can't wait to see who hatches out for Easter! Going to candle them for the first time tonight..!

How many eggs do you have?

Incubator holds 22, but I left one spot open for my thermometer. I was expecting 12-16 chicks…. Not 21. The oops was mine. I realize I don’t have to fill up the incubator but I just couldn’t resist setting those cute little eggs.

I’m in! My first incubator of Welsummer chicks will be hatching on March 26 and my second incubator of Austra-white chicks will be hatching April 3 (just in time for Easter!!).
