An Olive Egger hatched, that's 3 chicks. Only 15 more to go.
Yay! Chickies let's hatch!

Alright y’all,
I ended up with 21 chicks out of 29 eggs set, (25 had made it to lockdown).
Which I guess is good, considering the ✨mishap✨.
We think my brother had the lid open for way longer than I thought, and he must have turned them badly, as we found two chicks who were too twisted to zip. They were also badly shrink wrapped. We just finished helping them out, and they seem to be doing good now! I’ll know for sure by morning.

But other than that, everyone else hatched perfectly healthy, and stinkin’ cute!🤗🤗

I started with 24, a few quit or weren't fertile. The BTRs and CPs are starting to make me nervous.... only 2 of 9 in that incubator have pipped.
Of course, as always I did a check before bed and 5 of the CPs or BTRs have pipped. I can't tell which because some how 3 pipped right on the markings.

First time using incubator here. I actually have 10 eggs, miscounted originally when I thought it was 9.
Here's what I found on candling:
No. Breed
1. Mixed Banty. Good- has veins
2. OEGB Bad- Nothing
3. D'Uccle. Blk spot?
4. ? Good- veins
5. ? Good- veins
6. ? ?Dark area in middle, no vns
7. Mixed Banty. Good- veins
8. OEGB. ? Air cell, no veins,nothing
9. Mixed Banty. Good- veins
10. D'Uccle or OEGB Good- veins

3. Has a dark black spot as if it's the eye or body or size of bullseye with dark area around it, but I didn't see any veins. Not sure if even viable. Or maybe it started to develop then stopped?

6. Has dark area in middle. Is in middle of egg, not at top like an air cell. Can't remember if it had air sac. No veins. Is this another that possibly developed then stopped?

8. Has an air cell but no dark area like #6 like something started to develop. It's literally the air cell no veins, dark area or anything. Probably not fertile?

I hope I'm being descriptive enough.

My hatch is complete! 13 of the 14 that went into lockdown hatched. The one that didn’t make it had pipped, but never zipped. I pulled it last night and opened. Baby seemed to be in the right position but the initial pip didn’t break through the membrane. It wasn’t shrink wrapped and to my untrained eye looked perfect. Yolk was absorbed, head under the correct wing, etc. I don’t think I could have done anything different.
