17th day something smells funny

Hey guys, I on day 17 for this hatch and noticed yesterday that something smells a little bit funny. Its sort of a bad smell but very slight. Not sure what to do at this point. Tomorrow I will be removing the eggs from the turner to put on the rack and at that time I guess I will smell each egg to see if I find a bad one or not. Any other suggestions?

Unfortunately that's the only way to tell. Get one of the kids to sniff

well I found one egg that smells different from the others. It does have a slightly bad smell to it but Im afraid to throw it out. How can I be sure that it is really bad?

ok I trusted my nose and got the courage to break it open and it was never developed just all black liquid.

I would probably candle it before you put it in for the lockdown to see if anything is moving. I had three eggs from the last batch that didnt hatch and I opened one after day 25 and needless to say what was in there Im glad didnt explode. <eww> I had candled it first to see if anything was moving. It had an air sac but it was very very dark. Thats the only thing I can think of. But if it smells, Id say its bad and chuck it.

I just checked and I dont see anything moving in any of them.

I have never candled before and I think my flashlight is not bright enough maybe? I just see all black and an air sack thats it.

well today is day 19 and I have so far seen 4 of the eggs moving.

You could put it in a cup of water for a second or two. If it's bad it will float.
