I don't want to complain but the folks who "save" egg cartons for me always bring me 18 holers. I don't sell my eggs by the dozen and 1/2! What does everyone else do?

If that's what type of carton your customers save, then that's what they prefer to buy. I'd probably just start offering an 18 ct option. Around here eggs go for about $2/doz, so I'd sell an 18ct for $3.

thanks for answering back! Actually, these folks aren't my customers!
IF it were only that easy:) some folks just save cartons for me but buy from the store.....anyhoo.....I don't want to seem ungrateful.

I've been saving egg cartons for a while now - just optimistic I guess - but they're all 18 count cartons. When I'm finally able to sell eggs it'll be in the cartons that I have. If people only want a dozen, then there'll be 6 empties. I guess if it becomes an "issue" with people, I'll break down and buy a supply of 12 count.

Been trying to come up a logo so I can print off some labels but I'm just not the creative type

I have kind of the same problem, the feed store I sell to gives me cartons (some 18 holes) I take them b/c I dont wanna be picky... Problem is I have about 50 -18 holes in my trunk, just cant throw em out, seems like a waste !!! Wonder if I can cut 6 holes off 1 side to make em 12 ???? hmmmm !!!! Or 3 off each side so they still close !!!

I've had 18 count size given to me too. If I'm selling just a dozen I leave the center holes empty and fill the two outside rows for better balance. A carton is a carton. Even better when they're free.

I like the 18 count for storing in my fridge but move them into 12 counts to sell or give away. My neighbor brings me plenty of 12ct so it works out
