I incubated these chicks, she was the last to hatch and her legs have been positioned by her wings. this after noon i put a band aid on her legs to keep them down and together but now she walks on her knees and is developing sores. She is now in the brooder box and I had to bandage her knees with cotton balls and sports tape to protect them but she refuses to put any weight on her feet this is how she walks sits or does anything vvvvvvvv pictures below

not sure whats going on there wish i could give you good news but can't... i do know when hatching you need something with grip under them if their feet slide out from under them when first hatch they will get bold legged and will never walk right some never walk at all and you'll lose.... them small peice of carpet or something in bottom of brood will fix this.. after they get their legs under them your good but still need to make sure what their walking on is not slick ... really hope this helps....

Maybe try some physical therapy with her/him. Could be a problem with the muscles & tendons that just need to be stretched out & loosened. Try doing a full range of motion with her/him several times per day & see if that helps.

still no change i dont think she will make it much longer

I'm sorry to hear this. Other than what has been mentioned I really don't have anything to add except to say I'm sorry..

thanks just dont get it all the other chicks are running and everything and this one just will not put weight on her feet ive even tried a chick chair and she keeps pulling her feet right back up... she will not put them down

we had wire mesh in the incubator and pine shavings in the brooder box but we had to cull her yesterday my cat got ahold of her and the injuries were to severe to save her

I have absolutely no experience with chicks but have read that you can 'splint' their legs for support with this condition. A q tip or cotton bud I seem to remember was used
