18+ Lavender Ameraucana hatching eggs - Valentine's Day hatch!!!

26 eggs....these will probably need to be shipped in two boxes.

Someone asked and I thought it was a very good question so I will post the answer here, also. I began collecting the eggs on the 12th; five were collected that day.

We can probably ship these Tuesday if it is ok with the buyer.

How funny...I was posting a shipping question, and you were posting a shipping answer...hehe

If it helps to know, I just received two dozen eggs in one box, and they were all in good shape.

I split either a doz or a doz and half egg carton right down the middle. I put a girdle of bubble wrap around each individual egg and settle them into the carton, small end down, of course. I then use a piece of big bubble bubblewrap on top of the eggs between the top of the eggs and the lid. Close the lid. Tape the half carton shut. Repeat with second half of the egg carton. Stack the two halves; tape together. Wrap the entire egg bundle in a huge sheet of big bubble bubblewrap. Lay down a layer of peanuts in the box so the bundle will be centered. Nestle the bundle in the middle. Surround with peanuts. I try to use a 12x12x12 box or something close. Thats why only 18 really fits in each of my boxes. I don't think the flat rate shipping boxes are big enough. If you have a better method please share!

Hey, there! Thanks for posting your method. One of my favorite methods (that I've received with a great hatch rate) is each egg bubble wrapped individually, and then all are taped together in rows with long pieces of packing tape. Then the whole bundle is placed in the middle of large bubble wrap and surrounded with packing peanuts/air cell packs. However, we all know there is more than one way to "skin a cat."

Thanks for your time.

That sounds like it would work very well; how big is each individual piece of bubble wrap for each egg, if you had to measure the dimensions?

Oh, I would say approximately a 6x8 inch strip.

Have you noticed the sharks are running up the price of your birdies, here...they're killing me! I know you are happy, no doubt! lol

Patience, people, patience!
