I have leghorns and they are eighteen weeks old and I'm still waiting for eggs. Is this normal?

Yes, it's perfectly fine.

Most chickens don't start laying until they're 20-25 weeks, so you'll just have to wait, even if they are leghorns. Good luck!

20 weeks is the average for a pullet to begin to lay. Eighteen weeks is typically when my Leghorns start. Don't try to rush them. They need to develop their reproductive systems properly or they'll be at a higher risk of problems later on.

I am 1 week ahead of you and i am still waiting for my white leghorn....Can you post some pictures of your leghorn?

Mine is 22-23 weeks and nothing. Her comb just started growing and turning red the past week though, so I'm hoping for an egg from her soon....

Our leghorns have been hit and miss, about the same ag as well. The heat and their age will dictate things. In a few weeks it will all be rolling along just wait and see:D

Check for a hidden stash.... If none, they will be producing soon... unless they are crowing.

Mine finally laid her first egg today! Now if only her EE buddy who is 3 or 4 weeks older would figure it out...
