18 Week old Maran feather footed Hens

I introduced my Maran hens to my flock of one Rhode Island Red, One Americauna, One Olive Egger (not sure of her breed) without too much problem but one dominant Maran Hen is making trouble most of the day. Took the Rooster out before I introduced them thinking he might cause a problem. He's very sweet but did challenge one of the Maran hens in a side by side cage I had set up. Now poor baby is alone until the hens get their act together. Did I do right. Any suggestions about when I should introduce the Rooster, who is very sweet by the way. What about the dominant hen?

put him back in so the pecking order can be setup he might even keep the marans in line some

He won't try to kill them? He was very aggressive when I tried to introduce him to the Marans for the first time. Took the other hens out that he was used to. Maybe that was my mistake.
