With an auto turner, it better to turn eggs 180 degrees or 45? Last year I did approximately 180 degree turns, and had just under a 50% hatch rate - I’m now questioning if I was turning them incorrectly and wondering what angle I should aim for this year: more of a gentle rock, or full flip? I’m incubating a lot more eggs this year, so I certainly don’t want to mess it up 🫢

Depends if by turning you are rolling or tilting. 45 degrees when tilting is great. The small table top incubators typically tilt less, around 30 degrees but still ok. 180 degrees if rolling the egg on it's side . Turning frequency is another matter altogether.

I have a rolling turner, set for every 45 minutes. Thank you!
