19 and a half weeks old and still no eggs :( egg countdown anyone??

We have 12 (5 roos grr) that are 18 wks and 18 (1 roo) that are 9 wks no eggs yet but they started squatting a few days ago and their combs are starting to get darker on a few so i think we are getting close with the older ones :) Yay
Wow thats a lot of roos! 5/12 are the hens happy?

My Black Austrolurps are now 22 weeks old and no egg? Perhaps it is too hot here in GA in the middle of nowhere

I got a few full grown hens to start so thankfully I have eggs coming in, so it's not so bad. But darn it, I have family coming next weekend and it would have been nice to have a larger production rate going. One of the hens was older than I was told and seems to have stopped laying, which I won't tell the hubs cuz I like her...., two lay almost daily and the other two rotate days I think. I picked up two more Tuesday from a neighbor that was tired of their broodiness, and of course the move broke the broody so there's hope there, although I kinda wanted them broody! Otherwise, two more that might get with the program any day now, they're probably close to 20 weeks and 6 that are gonna be a while. Sigh, when it happens I'll be up to my ears in eggs, but I kinda wanna get there!!!!

He's beautiful! I just mentioned my roo to the chicken lady at the feed store. She's always so great knowing the needs of all her customers. She was able to find a fam looking for a roo because theirs had been attacked by a cyote. They were so happy to have him and I didn't feel quite so bad giving him away. Sometimes it just works out

Aww, thank you. That's a nice story. I may call the feed store today. I have to go in for dogfood anyway, so maybe I'll take my little roo in, if they have room.

I think this heat is really messing with the chickens poor girls. mine are almost 21 weeks old now and still holding out. congrats to everyone who finally got eggs and good luck to everyone who is still waiting with me lol

He's not my roo he's LavendarFeathers. He really is a good looking guy :) Do you have a fan in the coop or near the nesting boxes? Is it nice and dark and secluded? Idk just trying to think of some ways to attract the girls to relax and just lay already

We have 26 Golden Comets, they are 17 weeks. They have been laying since 15 weeks. We were very surprised when we found the first egg. We weren't expecting it yet.

Got my first at 18 weeks. One a day for the first 3 days then went to two a day. Next week I got 3 for 2 days then 4 one day. I was a happy camper. Now we're back to 2 a day. I tell them to remember "an egg a day keeps the colonel away." They all just won't listen.

Well, I got my first egg from my RSL when she was about 16-17 weeks (about a week ago). She generally lays every other day. A few days after the RSL started my OEGB started laying, and she's given me one a day so far! Still waiting on my younger girls, 3 Light Brahmas, 1 BO, 1WL, and 1SLW. Those girls are about 15 weeks right now I think. Still waiting of my duck hens (15 and 17 weeks)to lay as well...
