19 and a half weeks old and still no eggs :( egg countdown anyone??

Well not sure who layed this one? This is the fourth of our "first eggs" in 10 days.Found it behind the shed this afternoon after work in the spot they were messing in this weekend(makeshift nest outta oak leaves and dead grass). This is first fully formed egg, shell is still a little thin, but not soft, and much darker and a bit larger than other three eggs so far.

#1 was 8/04/12 soft shelled half formed on floor of coop (17 weeks 6 days old)
#2 was 8/10/12 dropped from the roost broke, soft mushy(18 weeks 5 days old)
#3 was 8/12/12 dropped from roost dented very thin shell(19 weeks old)
#4 was 8/14/12 layed in yard(secret hen's nest shhhh) a bit harder shell(19 weeks 2 days old)

My visions of baskets full of hard shelled extra large multiple eggs has been squished. Today however after thinking about all four eggs layed so far I can see some slight improvement.
Temps will cool down someday (been 100's for 4 days running! and most of the last month or so) girls are eating yogurt mash made of layer pellets, watermelon, squash, electrolytes, plenty of fresh water, grass, bugs etc they find in the yard, and free choice oyster shells.
We will continue to watch, wait, pray and hope for improvement. If any experienced folks out there that can assure me this is fairly "common" I won't say "normal"with new pullets I'll feel better and continue with positive thoughts.

I'm a little embarrassed, I don't think i was even this anxious when my boys were born

How do you know the shell on this one is still on the thin side? Judging from your little journal notes, seems like you have one pullet laying all of these and she's getting better and better! Don't worry, it'll come!

One of my Andalusians laid a little white egg this morning.... Near ish the nest box! I don't know which of them it was and it appears one of my other brown egg layers started to I think I had 12 hens (6 that are 24 or 25 weeks old and 6 that are22 or 23 weeks old) now for cooler weather... Oh that's coming. Ow that I'm heading out of town! Any of our dog show folks gonna be at the Memphis show in Southaven ms.... If so come see me ill be in the vendor area the canine. Iddy booth (all the Blingy collars and stuff I hope there is room for my vinyl stuff!)

Aww! It's so cute! Yeah, my little Daisy's first egg was very small too...I am suspecting that these are all probably Frankies, unless they have been different colors other than varying shades of brown.....(or perhaps you have other chickens that will lay brown) and hopefully this means her little body is getting used to the egg forming routine and they will continue to improve! I promise all these eggs are perfectly "common" for a new layer. like I said earlier, I read on here that there are all sorts of things that can happen with first eggs...If you didn't see my earlier post, I got a squishy egg this morning too...ick. Dunno for sure who's it was, the shell was so thin it was hard to distinguish a color, but it was either an "oops" of Daisys or one of my other new layers' Petrie or Ginger.

Thanks Jess, I could tell it was thin shelled just by weight, at least thicker than no shell or soft shell! .....and I cracked it open and fried it up for dinner tonight after Yoga
