It's so hard for so many families these days to keep their heads above the water, so to speak. It amazes me that they're raising their girls that way too, i mean what if their future husband loses his job and cant find a new one right away? what if they need a better income? They're family is great but I am glad i was born into a family that supports independence. With the way things are in this world anymroe, women really need that sense of independence so that they know they can do it on their own if it comes down to it. But i guess that's why they are such a close family, they will always be willing & able to support eachother, financially and such.

i dunno, now i feel like im ranting, lol.

I think any potential mate for any of the children would be screened so tightly that no one that doesn't share their values and beliefs would get through. If you notice, everyone they seem to socialize with also has large families. The kids are not allowed any unsupervised time with anyone outside the family, no coaches, no teachers, no ministers, no friends. Every aspect of the children's lives is completely controlled by the parents; the only people that are not screened by the family that these kids interact with are those doing the filming. Each of these children are programmed to expect exactly what mom and dad want from them.

Personally, I find them kind of creepy. I also think they are raising drones. Any of these kids confronted with a completely new and unexpected challenge would have trouble handling it. They are well trained to cheerful, and obedient. This could set these girls, in particular, up for a lifetime of abuse. Questioning, saying no, upsetting anyone, standing up for oneself are all discouraged. I don't think this is good for anyone.

A few thoughts. Their children didn't seem so well behaved when they filmed them at the (rental) house in Little Rock they are staying in temporarily. They were running around like a bunch of banshees, tearing into stuff.
My other issues with the family: the carbon foot print that family is using. Every kid has to been named with a 'J' like Dad. I read something recently about their having so many children (by not using BC) as pennance (sp?) for using birth control at one time. Seems to me the mom is the one "doing the time", not the dad.​

not sure she should really have any more kids. too many. how ca she honestly give her motherly attentoin to each of them. I just have 2 and i am pooped!

I agree that they are creepy as heck.

Having children is great, it's something I very much want to do in a few years. It will be an aspect of my life. It will not be my entire identity.
Raising girls to be breeder sows is degrading and creepy, IMO.

They are not raising well-rounded or well-educated individuals. I'm not even sure they ARE raising individuals.
