This afternoon my 19 week old australorp starting acting strange suddenly. A flock of wild turkeys had flown into the yard, my dogs were chasing them, and there was a big commotion. During this, the hens were all hiding under the coop. (their run is completely enclosed.) The australorp kept making these loud bak bakking noises over and over, then she continued to stay under the coop after the other hens had calmed down and were out grazing again in their run. She seemed to be falling asleep on her feet, and the membrane under one eye kept coming up and covering the eye. Although she did come out and graze a bit and drink water, she looks kind of hunched up and her feathers are looking spikey. My husband thinks she is having a prolonged panic/freeze reaction. The others are all ok.
Any ideas from those who are more experienced?

As it all turned out, she was getting ready to lay the first egg but because I was new to chickens didn't recognize the signs. The turkeys had nothing to do with it! Silly me.
