19 week old silkie gender guess *pics*

LOL, they are so confusing! On a side note, the pic there has a gigantic comb in relation to the ones mine have (or rather the nonexistant combs mine have)

Then I'd think they were pullets, because he really doesn't have a that large of a comb for a boy. My breeder cockerel has a slightly larger comb.

Were pullets what you were wanting?

So the guess tally so far is

ChickenName ....Hen....Roo
Copper...............4.........2
Echo...................4.........2
Tribble................5.........0
Giz......................5.........1

So from this we think probably everyone is pullets, however the copper and echo may surprise us. That's the sum of it...yes?

I think they are all pullets, except for Echo. My guess on that one is based on the 'swept back' hairdo. But I am no exert by far!! I didn't know for sure what mine were until one started crowing and two started laying!! The other two aren't doing either, but when the two 'layers' are in the mix, I can't pic them out. So I'm guessing I have 4 girls and 1 boy!!

And my roo just started crowing about a month ago, at 7-8 months old...

My males have HUGE mulberry combs--
obviously not show quality...
but isn't that what one would look for by that age-- bigger combs--especially in chicks from a Commercial breeder as opposed to a private one?

I have 3 silkie "crosses" that are only 4 weeks old---
2 white that "look" like typical silkies and a Black one that looks like-- well-- um... CUTE!?
But have NO CLUE whether M or F at this age.... tho one has a larger "pad" where the comb will be....?

Do you have the larger versions of the pics? Copper and gizmo are cockerels. Need to see the larger pics to get a better look at the other two.

I am not sure how to resize the pics back up to what i resized them from...if that makes any sense!

Usually you can't, you need to re-upload them, otherwise you'll lose the details.

ok, working on it...
