We used to order day old chicks from Sears and Roebuck and that is an interesting ad, but Im not going to wax poetic about the good old days. The simple life when it took hours to do what we do now in minutes. Yeah, not all new things are good things, but now at least we have a choice if we want it.
Im not interested in going back to the days when it took arms of steel to move the vacuum cleaner, wringer washers were the order of the day, have you used one of those? I have, we had one as a secondary machine for large and heavy duty things, and theyre a BEAST, again bicep building and back breaking, fine for certain things, but I want the choice. Food processors, blenders, hand mixers, microwaves, good freezers and decent frozen veggies, air conditioning, power tools in the shop, power lawnmowers, my brother and I had to mow my grandparents lawn with a rotary mower, OUCH!! and on and on (I have friends who have a tiny postage stamp yard and have a modern one of those, not the crotchety beast from the 50s. They love it and I agree, but even ITs a modern one!)
