hi all!
I have 1 rhode island Red that has only missed 2days Of egg laying since October 5 when she started laying. I have 2 black astrolops one starred laying in November and the other still has not payed one egg....
Should I be worried or is it just a late bloomer?
They were born may 2017

It is a normal thing that happens, although mine was 4 1/2 months when laying I always get a late egg layer when getting a batch of pullets or chicks. I've had mine laying up till 10 months. Not to mention the cold weather can also stop it. Do you have a pic of her so we can tell if she is close to laying? You should know by their comb and personality of they are getting close

She looks good eating good and has started the squat so I am hoping soon!!

If your girl is eating, drinking, and otherwise acting normal, it's probably fine and she will lay when she is ready, which is always after we are ready ;)
I know and it’s killing me! Lol

Maybe she is laying and they are just laying on alternate days! I have 4 girls laying, but never get 4 eggs in the same day.
I actually see them when they go in. That was my thought too and then I started watching...

She will definitely start pretty soon. Chickens usually start laying a few weeks after they do the egg squat, but don't get suspicious if longer or shorter, she could start laying as soon as a couple to a few days possibly.

If shes already squatting, Id be expecting an egg any day now.
