1hen won't eat

Update: she seems better, more talkative, pecking at her grain, more alert. One week since start of clavimax and the worm pill. Still not sure what it was. Still runny poop. Crop is smaller...things seem to be going through a little better. Hope it continues, she has to get her syrenght back as she has 2 coop mates she has to reassert dominance over, both younger amd bigger than her
Hi Evangitron, good to hear of slight improvements. Sometimes...they can live for a substantial period of time with reproductive disorders, often very well at times. She would however need to be getting food past that crop.
I wonder if acidified copper sulphate would be too much on her system at this point?? You have read the article on treating with this right?

Thank you, interesting article.
Our hen continues to slowly improve. Crop almost empty in m8rning, less poofy...or not poofy at all at backsides of abdomen. Appetite and comb color better. I think it will take time to fatten her, although she is not a fat type bird, being a cubalaya. She will take a while to regain strength. Still on the antibiotics, giving her an epsom salt bath/soak daily. Probiotics with some molasses, turmeric, and cayenne added. This with wet layer pellets.
Going to try some egg yolk and maybe a macaroni noodle. She pecks at watermelon, especially the seeds, so we put some tiny niger thistles on the watermelon as well ss I am afraid seeds might stop her up again.
thanks

If your hen has a reproductive disorder, and I think she does, it very well may be blocking up her system due to swelling of internal organs and/or internal laying (belly full of fluid). That's why her crop is remaining full, there's nowhere for the contents to go. She isn't eating because she can't - she is full of back-up.
There really isn't anything else you can do. Reproductive disorders are horrible.
Still Slowly improving. Crop empties. I wish she would eat more in order to get back in fighting trim. She likes seeds and wayermelon. She needs something to boost her appetite.

Watermelon, she likes watermelon but her appetite has always been picky. She likes to forage and loves dandelions but it is winter. I guess I should inquire at feed store about vitamins

Some vitamin enthusiastically ate some rolly pollys and baby centipedes as well as buttercup leaves which she has always liked. She either didn't see the worms or chose to forego them. Her gait is still a bit unsteady
due to weakness, but her appetite is so much better./4 tablet crushed onto food or a few bits of chopped liver daily might help her appetite. Glad that she is improving.
She continues to improve, took her out in the sun today and she enthusiasti
