1st Birthday... are they officially hens???

Hello!

All's happy in the coop today, it's a 1st Birthday!! ONE year ago today my girls were hatched in Ohio at Meyer Hatchery, hopped into a box and headed west! This has been a GREAT experience! So glad I came across this site and have this time!

I think I read that the girls are 'Pullets' up to today, so now is it official - I have a full on HEN House here in the hood?!

If I were to get a few more chicks how old do they need to be before they could join the older girls?? Just brainstorming - because baby chickies are so wonderful... but never get less!

OH NOOO I think it's a wonderful thing to celebrate! I new at this and I remember there was a lot to watch for and be careful about in those early days. We put a lot of TLC into building them a safe coop too! SO all said and done, so glad they all are 'cackling' strong and popping out happy eggs left and right! They are a lot of fun! So YES CELEBRATE their bday with all kinds of cheer!

I'm all for that!!
