it'll be okay...work fast...incubating is so imperfect that's why people worry about humidity...don't want the baby to lose moisture in the membrane or it can't get out AND this is huge....the baby might get disoriented if it get moved to much...it's working to position it's self! but the turner is an accident waiting to happen to the little legs if you ask me!! but I do all kinds of stupid things! just today...so you have to be able to live with your choice!

i keep reading and not sure if i get the humidity thing. eggs have shells obviously. if i raise the lid and the humidity goes down for 5 minutes.seems to me it would take alot longer than that to get through a shell? if the humidity gets back up in 5 minutes how can that hurt. i would think a shell dont suck the humidity in nowhere near that fast?

Seems like but they say it happens
The shell is porous and the membrane is right next to the shell Use the spray bottle of water and you should be ok.
If they haven't pipped they say its a less chance of shrink wrap
Pipped I wouldnt open it until the pipped guy hatches
Zipping if they take over 15- 24 hours and no further zipping at all that membrane attaches on them like super glue.I have had to use warm for 5 minutes on some I assisted to get it off Keep dousing and some of it still doesnt come off Has to just wear away.Ive stuck them down in the sink with water to soak still wont come off well.

NO.... Once they all hatch you can take them out any time
Well open it and take out the fluffy ones that is...Leave the others until they dry well.
.Some Eggs still unhatched........ Just want to wait until MOST hatch if possible or a bunch anyway
If it gets too crowded I take them out. (Not advised though)
Use the spray bottle first raise the humidity and quickly remove them Some ppl leave them in no matter what until they most all are hatched but I like them out in 24 hours at tops.
I could be wrong though to open then if some are still hatching but I feel like why take a chance on one that's alive waiting for one that might not hatch.
They have to stay in until all their feather dry so they dont get a chill anyway and that's about 7-10 hours or more with the humidity that high

The risk in opening the incubator during lockdown is not shrink-wrapping them because of them losing moisture through the shell. It’s after they have pipped that there is some danger. With that hole, they can lose moisture. Shrink wrapping does not happen each and every time you open the incubator with an egg that has pipped. It is something that can possibly happen.

I’ve opened the incubator with eggs pipped a few times. I shrink wrapped a chick once doing that. Only once. There are several times that I did not shrink wrap any. It is something that can and occasionally does happen so I consider it good practice to not gamble with a chick’s life unless I have a real good reason to open the incubator. But they are yours. Do as you will.
