I removed all the water 2 hours ago with paper towels. The humidity is still fluctuating between 48-53% I don't know what to do.You can do dry incubation. The eggs need to loose some moisture while developing so you may not need to add any water.
Can I lay a clean dry cloth under the eggs, to keep them from rolling around? Will that help reduce the moisture by absorbing it?Currently I do not have any water in my incubator and the humidity is around 40%.
First I would remove the plugs. Some people I know have put their incubator in a closet. I have put paper towels under the eggs. Can I lay a clean dry cloth under the eggs, to keep them from rolling around? Will that help reduce the moisture by absorbing it?
Okay I will do that and cross my fingers, thank you.I have put paper towels under them.
Okay off to do that, and place paper towels under them too. They all just seem to want to roll today. Ugghhh why didn't I buy an egg turner......Remove the plugs and see how it goes. I'm using my homemade incubator but also have Little Giants and Hova-Bators. I put some air holes in the homemade incubator and put tape over them if I need to. I took the tape off of the holes in mine and it's better now. Mine was reading 50%+ now it around 40%.
You can still get an egg turner. Originally I hand turned but I was working at the time. Luckily I worked graveyard. I turned the eggs when I got home from work around 7am and around 3pm and just before I left for work around 10pm, then I invested in a turner. Best purchase I made. I retired 11 years ago. Again, good luck and have fun...Okay off to do that, and place paper towels under them too. They all just seem to want to roll today. Ugghhh why didn't I buy an egg turner......
