I have been working really hard on intergrating two silkies with my other two bigger girls...and it was NOT going well at all...Rocky (my barred rock pullet was chasing and pecking non-stop) She was put in chicken jail for a couple of days
This morning we let everyone out to free range...the two big girls (Buffy & Rocky) came out and did their normal exploring...the two little silkies (Ping & Pong) pretty much stayed in the coop for most of it, but did explore a little...every now and then Rocky would go over and peck one, but for the most part the two groups of two just hung out in their own click all together (if that makes sense)
Sooo tonight we decided to take the jail coop out of the big coop and let all the chickens (4 total) sleep together...hoping for the best...I did make a few 'hiding places' in the coop...we'll see in the morning how it goes...
***
The big girls go in the coop at night, but the silkies just huddle on the ground outside near the feeder and we have to go put them in each night...will that always be the case, or will they eventually get it???
***
Fingers crossed!!!
