That is what you do. You use a head lamp so your hands are free and slip the under her when it is completely dark out. The chicks will settle under her. If she is sitting on fake eggs, remove them.
This works best when the hen has been on eggs for as close to 3 weeks as possible.
Be out there just before dawn to monitor. A truly broody hen close to normal incubation period will happily accept chicks.

I put babies in my little beanie hat so they would all be snuggled for the 20 foot walk to the coop so they all stayed pretty quiet, I waited until the hen was good and sleeping to so it was about 930 when I took them to her, I stuck babies under her and removed any eggs and they chirped a little but she raised right up(not happily with me messing with her lol) but she took all 6 babies fine right then, I did linger outside the coop to listen for any mishaps or mama maybe rejecting them but after about 15 mins I wen back inside. I did go back out and check on her several times through the nite just to make sure, and I baby fell out of the nest so I had to get her back under mom but everybody was happy the next morning and now she’s out in the yard with everybody everyday showing off her babies!!! It worked very well for me and her lol!! Hope this helps!! Good luck! Keep me updated!!

Thank you so much for your answer, I hope something will hatch under the hen but if not I will do the same, she has been so determined to sit and hatch something, she would be so sad if no babies will hatch, so I want to make sure she will have her babies

Thank you, she is sitting on real hatching eggs this is something I want to have prepared of the eggs won’t hatch after 21 days …she is determined to hatch them so I really want her to have her babies

Oh boy I understand completely! My Rowdy girl was overly determined to have babies, bless her heart she’s a 1st time mama and only about 10 months old so I didn’t want her to get her heart broken when I discovered her last few eggs just didn’t develop fully I got advice on here and leaped into action to find day old chicks!! And thank goodness it worked!!
