1st time hatching shipped eggs

Yeah that yellow soup is when they get scrambled. I am still trying to figure out if that is due to rough handling or the air plane ride. Some folks are saying it is the plane ride, and the pressure in the cargo area, others say that doesn't harm it. Personally I would go with the pressure, because they look almost like each egg has exploded. A broken egg yolk would be different then that, this is like someone put it in a blender. Which is why I am thinking pressure. About 90% of the ones that I got were like that.
mine didnt have an airplane ride and I have a scrambled one at least. the ones we got last year didnt either and 2 of those were scrambled. But the box this time was smashed in on one side. Lucky for me the eggs were packed very well and i only had 2 that leaked. there are 2 that I cant find the aircell.. so I am thinking they got shook up pretty well.

Yeah I think if they shake them up big time it also will do that to them. I was thinking about taking a regular cooking egg and standing here for an hour shaking it and see if I can scramble it. Might be a good project for the kids to do. Then I can cook them scrambled eggs after wards.

I'm going to try this again!!! I have shipped eggs coming early next week. 6+ buff orpington and 6 CCL (from someone other than who supplied these!).

So watch for my "2nd time hatching shipped eggs" thread,-- coming soon!! As soon as I receive the eggs I will candle and take pictures. (I need to figure out how to take better pictures, perhaps I need a helper to hold the eggs while I take the pictures).

This next time I think I will use my broody hen, so I will candle when they arrive and then pictures when mama hen is tending to her newly hatched chicks.

I have been incubating shipped eggs for the last two weeks they are due to hatch next Friday, I put 6 in and 2 had blood rings on day 7, just candled again tonight and one of the air cells doesn't look right, can I do anything to help it at this stage, it has veins like the others and a dark blob

I'm not an expert on candling, but as it develops the air sac does get larger. Perhaps on shipped eggs, with the air sac already large and disturbed it gets bigger than you would normally see.

If it has veins and a dark blob I would leave it in and see how it goes.

Occasionally happens with shipped eggs. Keep an eye on it, it should be okay but may be positioned wrong and need assistance hatching,

Thank you, I was freaking out, as long as it has a chance I'm happy, the other 3 cells are not like this, I've never had OCD in my life but I think these eggs have changed that for sure
