1st-time nesters... Now what?

Even if they just have one egg to sit on? Or do they continue laying eggs until they have a whole clutch?

And by "go broody", does that mean that they won't rush outside with the others, but instead stay in on their egg(s)?
Yes, even if they have 0 eggs to sit on while mine are broody they will just lay on their nest all day. Some ducks just don't go broody though so yours may or may not ever go broody.

My Muscovy ducks don't go broody until there are "enough" eggs in the nest. Only they seem to decide how many is enough. But they share nests for laying eggs and share sitting/broody duties. Not sure how it would work out if you confined just one duck to the nest if more than one is laying there.

I have 8 ducks, and they prefer to lay their eggs in the corner of the coop (the two nesting boxes occasionally will have an egg in them, but mostly just poop). I'm wondering if I should leave the eggs there to see what happens. I could write dates on them. I do want them to make ducklings.
