My maran roos were mean, too. The hens are nice, though, even if they don't lay any eggs (that I know of). I especially like my little blue marans hen. She's pretty and gentle.

you know I am planning on "harvesting" my maran roo today too! He is super mean and I don't him when my kids are out. wonder if it's the breed?

I was just gonna say that too, My Cuckoo Marans were not anything close to mean but they by far were the least Friendly but the hens are very sweet.

They look Great. Look at that pretty yellow fat. you dont see that in the grocery store. What time is dinner?

Looks great, just try to leave a little more skin near the neck in the future. Each one will get faster and easier. Good job for taking it on solo.
