1st time trying to hatch with a broody hen.

I “disturbed” my broody all the time. She didnt mind, I eventually played with her chicks a fair bit and they became quite friendly.

Why? Just peek under her.

Because, I'm afraid she might get up and the chicks could have cracked thier shell..I don't want them to be shrink wrapped.

Today is day 20 of incubation

My chickens get off their nest with chicks that have broke the shell and I've never had one get shrink-wrapped. I thought that was with incubators that had to low humidity.

Ah, that’s a pity. My favorite part of the experience was pulling the eggs out, feeling their warmth and candling them. I had two hatch in my hands <3

When she was raising the chicks, she let me pull them out from under her too

I miss counted the days..I started them under her July 2nd, so today should be day 19.
