1st time using egg carton method and I've got pips!

I wanted to try it because last hatch they kept knocking and rolling the other eggs all over and some of those ended up starting but not hatching. This seems to be much neater but slower. Did you notice it going slower? Maybe it's just me. My last 3 hatches have been button quails and they just pop right out one after the other. Forgot how long it takes chickens!

Still just one out; other is hatched but still sitting in the egg with the shell on its head! Lots of pips.

Quail always hatch fast..pip and pop! Don't you love them sitting in the shell in the carton with their lids on? This past hatch they pipped at different intervals but seemed to all hatch within a few hours of each other. Probably the incessant peeping of the first one hatched...calling the others.

Congrats!

I've always used the egg carton method and LOVE it! They don't seem to have any problems getting out of the eggs. Sometimes it takes them awhile to build up enough strength to push themselves out, but they always seem to manage to do it.

Sending lots of good hatching vibes your way for the rest of the eggs!

Thanks all! Still going very slowly - second one is still sitting in its shell; hasn't attempted to get out! Awake and alert and drying though. #1 has been moved to the brooder and is doing fine. Pips starting to progress on some a little further.

HURRY UP PEEPS!!!!!

Here's #2 about an hour ago - cute yellow one!

I tried searching for a link, but must be doing something wrong. You just place eggs in the carton and turn them like that?
Congratulations on your babies!

Mags....yep. You just tilt each carton on it's side about 45 degrees, then back the other way 45 degrees. I like that I don't have to handle each egg so much...I have had mishaps! Here is a photo of some that I have in my bator now:

) could I kind of prop the egg carton against the side of the incubator.(I have one of those styrofoam bators.)
