eggs have started hatching. I have 3 chicks so far. 5 more are cracking 2 have good cracks I can see them. My question is do I need to leave a light on or is it ok to be dark room. My 10 year old son thinks the light should stay on and he should stay up alll night with them... He is so excited...

I think you should leave the light on and let him stay up all night.

Of course, my kids are grown and I dont have to worry about the consequences.....LOL

One day of school won't hurt... Lol. He will gain a valuable experience too..

Leave the light on otherwise the ones who haven't finished might not...

If its your first hatch, that means its his first hatch too.

TRUST ME!!! No matter how many more he sees in his life this one will be the most special (for you too) let him stay up and see those fuzzy little babies come into this world, I was 8 when my first hatch took place and now at 23 with well over a dozen hatches since then that one was still the most fun, the most memorable, and most shockingly amazing thing I've ever seen in my life (second only to having my own daughter but that one came with pain too so it was almost a tie) and I am still very grateful to my parents for letting me stay up on a school night to watch.

O POST PICS OF THE BABIES WHEN THE HATCH IS DONE!!! BYC LOVES to see babies.
