She started making this honking noise , it is very hot here and she does not appear to be wheezing there is no mucous and she is not sneezing. She is eating, drinking, laying and pooping normal. Not sure what it is she never did this before. Any thoughts I see it's normal on chicks that their voice is changing but she is older. I tried to upload a video but it wouldn't let me sorry

Sometimes chirping/ honking means distress. Give her some cold water to drink. And you may want to hold her in a pan of lukewarm water, like water that's been sitting out. Make mush from layer crumbles or pellets.

My EE honked when it got really hot. I brought her inside in the a/c for awhile then let her out later. Seminolewind deals with the heat and humidity as well and offers excellent advice also.

I made the mash for her and she ate a lot , also held her in Luke warm water. She was still honking up until she fell asleep. I'll try it again tomorrow if she continues to do it. She isn't wheezing or anything looks healthy. Eating pooping laying and drinking normal. She is free-ranging digging for bugs. She just keeps honking. Thanks for your help

I kept feeding her the mash and it worked she stopped honking thanks everyone, she seemed to do it more when it was really humid out.

I have a 4 month old that honks. We think it is because she gets mad. She comes to the porch where we feed the barn cats and she pecks at their empty dishes then honks and leaves the porch. She also likes to hang out in the wadding pool we have for the chicks on hot days, like we have had this week...over 100 degrees with heat index of 112 to 120.
