BBQ Chicken baked so long that all the meat falls off the bones and the barbeque sause turns into a thick, sweet roasted cream. with wild rice and spinach or greens au gratin.
Buttery, Lemon and Oregono/Basil Fried salmon wth wild rice
Creamy peanut butter and marshmello fluff on white bread as a sandwich. This was the only sandwich I'd eat as a little kid...sheesh...I can't believe my Mom called that lunch!
Also, my Gram used to take her leftover pie crust pieces and roll them up with a little cinnamon and sugar and bake them....soooo flaky and good. We fought over them!
My mom's cherry pie (sweet cherries with a bit of almond extract) and chocolate chip milkshakes with my grandfather after being out at "the Ranch" riding my pony!
We were poor as kids: egg sandwiches with butter and honey and salt and pepper (still eat them to this day), and a mix my mom made out of black eyed peas, cabbage, sweet potatoes, turkey burger, onions, and brown rice. She'd cook everything and mix it together. That, and her pancakes, with molasses, wheat berries, wheat flour, sunflower seeds, flax seeds (whole), and some other random stuff. My childhood was tramatizing in regard to food. I still give her a hard time about it LOL!!!
