I've never had a problem with lice. I did get ahold of one and check him for mites though because one of my other pens got them again. He looks clean but I will treat him before he goes just to be sure.

Just wondering! We bough a rooster just 3 days ago and the poor guy. I felt so sorry for him! The lady had 4 roosters to like 5 hens! So she was getting rid of 2 of them and they were splash marans. The one we took was not as bad as the other one but he was the nicer one and we felt sorry so we took him in. I'm de - licing him right now and treating him. He has almost no feathers to him because he was beat so badly. The lady would grab them by their necks! His face is a little pale and a little red so I think he is sick. His face is starting to become fully red again. Thank God!
The lady had them in her bank barn locked up with two turkeys in a small area and wild birds were flying around and making nests! Hens looked sick to.

Thus I hate lice... I can't stand them! Your roosters look so healthy, just like my hens. I just need a rooster to keep my 20 girls company.

And we also have the splash rooster on the other side of the property in which we have 6 acres to prevent spread of whatever he has.

Oh my. I know how you feel. Hopefully he is pale from having lice and not something else. I have one separated that I had to pull out of my other pen because the mites were on him so bad he was pale and weak. I never had any problems with mites unit we had some animal hoarding neighbors across the road. They have been gone a year and a half and stuff like that still creeps back up every now and then.

The one on the left is gone. Someone came to buy chicks and fell in love with him! Yea!
The one on the right is still available. He is the one with gold in his lacing.
