2 broken legs

Would need to be a sturdy laundry basket for a pekin. Adults can be heavy! But I love the laundry basket idea for the view and ventilation.

As soon as you feel comfortable with doing so, swim therapy will also be beneficial to help rebuild the muscle and coordination. I would provide as much water time as possible.

I’ve never seen it done, but the thought of a sling in a deep tub, with water up to about the bottom of the sling just occurred to me for ducks. Hmmm.
That's where a laundry basket sling would work great, I think. The whole thing could be lifted in and out of a tub.

True, and probably be easier to clean. That's what I love about this group, everyone thinking out loud and riffing off all the ideas.

But the bath would be a good way to clean out the laundry basket too.
I’d keep a puppy pad in the bottom for the worst stuff, then remove it and most of the gunk. Then a bath!

You’re so right. I also love the way we construct ideas off each other here. :highfive:

I have to get her feed and water higher, I know.. but I used an old tshirt split in half along the seams so it would be thin and tied it to the slots on the crate.

Awwww....what a sweet face!

Good job on the sling:thumbsup If you don't mind, can you tell us how your duck broke both legs?
The only thing I can think of is she got under a horse. She was right outside of her pen and no injuries other than 2 broken legs. One is almost severed and one is just broken. She is still eating and drinking. Seems fine otherwise . If she loses the leg but is ok other than that, I cant put her down unless she can't manage to figure out how to thrive
