Creating panels 1 and 3.

Measure along the long side of a 5/8 inch sheet of plywood. Measure 2 feet in from the short side. Do this from each of the corners.

Draw a gigantic x

Cut along the x.

Do the same on another 5/8 sheet of plywood to create panel 2.

Creating the vents. The bottom corner is 6 inches from the bottom and side.

It helps to label the panels with a pen. For the panel above, the side facing up would be inside panel 3. The underside would be outside panel 3.

See my labeling in the picture below.

The vent is 18 inches by 18 inches.

Drill a pilot hole.

Insert a jigsaw and cut out the vent.

Installing the hardwire on panels 1 and 3. It goes on the inside side of the panel.

I predrill holes for all of my screws. It prevents the wood from splitting and makes the screw go in straighter. The drill bit should be narrower than the shaft of the screw, excluding the slanted screw element.

In fact I use 2 drills. 1 to predrill and the other to drive in the screw.

Be sure the screws are going through the hard wire.

Cut the 2 remaining 5/8 plywood panels so they are 7 1/2 feet long. If you want your coop to be bigger and don't need or want roof overhang you can skip this.

Cut 1 of the panels down the middle so you have 2 2 feet by 7 1/2 feet panels. These are the sides.

The other panel will be the bottom.
